Dr. Jano participated at the workshop “European Union Enlargement Strategy in the Western Balkans: Effects on the Rule of Law” which took place in Skopje, Macedonia on the 25-26 May 2017. The focus of the workshop was on the effects of the European Union’s accession conditionality on compliance in the Western Balkans. Special attention was given to the EU´s political criteria and rule of law issues covered in negotiation chapters “Judiciary and fundamental rights” and “Justice, Freedom and Security”. The workshop was a closing event of the SCOPES supported three-year joint research project of the Center for Comparative and International Studies at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology.
